The Concept of the «Family» in the Ancient Russian Culture

Abstract: In the article the history of the formation of the traditional concepts of the family in the Russian culture from the perspective of the philosophy of culture is being analyzed. The purpose of the study is the reconstruction of the semantic paradigm of the concept of «family» in the culture of ancient Russia. The basis for the methodology is a multi-disciplinary approach. The author makes a conclusion that the idea of the family in the ancient Russian culture is unique. The family is understood as integration of many personalities into one personality as a single whole, i. e. a unanimous community existing in the holistic unity of flesh and spirit.
