Abstract: By the method of numerical simulations it has been carried out the investigations of nonmetallic inclusions (NMI) in the form of calcium aluminates composition 3CaO.Al2O3 in the circulation flow in the intermediate ladle caster according to their radius. It has been found out that to remove NMI 100–30 micron diameter sufficiently organize updrafts, and to remove particles with a diameter less than 30 microns it is necessary to use additional devices for blowing argon through the porous metal insert.

Keywords: constructional steel, nonmetallic inclusions, numerical simulation, calcium aluminates.
