Abstract: The article is aimed at consideration of actual problems related to the installation of pile foundations in permafrost soils. In such conditions, it is impossible to build a foundation of small foundations. This is due to the indicators of frost heave forces, which, in turn, are due to the depth of seasonal freezing of the soil. The use of pile foundation is the optimal solution for permafrost soils. The article presents the two most common methods of piling, which are widely used in construction in the extreme North. Advantages and disadvantages of both methods are given. The substantiation of application of one of methods of immersing of piles on an example of erection of object is resulted.

Keywords: pile foundation, permafrost, drilling, boring.
