Convenience and Safety of Movement of Low-Mobile Groups of Population in the Territory of the Transport and Transfer Hub «Motel» in the City of Donetsk

Abstract: The article is devoted to the problem of adapting transport-transshipment units of the city to the specific needs of low-mobile groups of the population. The authors present the results of sociological and architectural surveys of the current state of the territory of the transport and transfer hub «Motel» located in the eastern part of the city of Donetsk. The data of the analysis of the degree of its safety and convenience for the mobile groups of the population in certain categories are also provided: with hearing, vision, people with disorders of the musculoskeletal system, moving with auxiliary supports on wheels, in wheelchairs. On the basis of the results of the conducted research devoted to the identification of the main difficulties in the movement of the low-mobility groups of the population in the territory of the given city facility, the authors of the article make appropriate conclusions about the multifaceted nature of the problem and the feasibility of using the methodology of the system approach in its further study.
