Abstract: The article is devoted to topical issues related to the influence of alternative energy sources on the level of comfort living in residential buildings of medium height. The main types of alternative energy sources with the subsequent identification of the most rational ones from the point of view of economic and environmental aspects are also considered. The authors analyzed the impact of energy sources on the comfort level of people living and their influence on the architectural and planning organization of the residential building. The main social aspects are considered with the possibility of further introduction of systems of alternative energy sources.
