Abstract: This article deals with the choice of an industrial facility for housing, taking into account the environmental friendliness of objects. Industrial facilities damage the environment throughout the entire technical chain – from the extraction of raw materials and primary processing to the implementation of production processes. Today in the Donetsk region there are several problems: 1. A large number of industrial facilities that are mothballed. 2. The unavailability of new housing for the population. In Donetsk-Makeevka agglomeration, about 65 % of industrial enterprises, such as enterprises of light industry, chemical industry and enterprises of heavy metallurgy, are currently closed. In order to create an eco-friendly loft, we need to figure out which enterprises are suitable for the term «eco-friendly» and which are not. After analyzing the use of resources in all sectors of the economy and the degree of influence of the main factors influencing the location of production, it can be concluded that the best option for placing a loft are objects associated with light and food industries.
