Abstract: The data on experimental studies of the effectiveness of adhesion of spikes of ice drifts with an ice surface are presented. The described experimental setup is described in detail. The installation allows you to simulate the power parameters that occur when using a fishing box as a basic element in the rescue of a person who has failed in a ravine in the ice. The data of the results of a two-factor experiment performed under natural conditions in an open water body are presented. The regression equation is obtained and the surface of the response of the dependence of the realized tractive effort (the force of adhesion of ice drifts to ice) on the mass of the vertical load and the number of spikes is constructed.

Keywords: ice drifts, spikes, experiment, rescue, ice.
