Specific Issues of Using Landscape and Recreational Areas in Industrial Regions of Europe

Abstract: In the article, the authors disclose the concepts: landscape-recreational territories, industrial-production zone, analyzes the legal regime for regulating the use of land in these zones, taking into account reform of land management and, in particular, in Ukraine. The foreign experience of transforming an industrial territory into a landscape-recreational zone was studied and analyzed using the example of the city of Duisburg (Germany). The reasons and motivation for transforming unprofitable industrial territories into recreational zones are disclosed. It is shown by the example of an inactive metallurgical plant how buildings and structures can be used, as well as the landscape to create a park with the aim of holding cultural events, arranging zones for public catering establishments, etc. Based on the results of the studies, the authors conclude that the introduction of similar practices are common in areas where similar conditions are emerging for the implementation of such projects.
