Park Territories. Aesthetic Perception and Functional Purpose
Abstract: The article discusses the aesthetic and functional components of park areas, the role of city parks in the life of the population of megacities and small towns. Attention is paid to the necessary conditions and requirements for park spaces in relation to the planning structure of the city, taking into account aesthetic perception. Possible ways of solving a number of environmental problems and problems with the help of park areas within the city have been identified. The role of parks in the planning structure of urban development, as well as the importance of parks for citizens, their perception of the landscape from an aesthetic point of view, is analyzed. The problems of park areas in the Donetsk region are identified and analyzed, taking into account their initial emergence in the region as an urgent need for green areas in the industrial coal mining area, in particular, in workers’ settlements.
