Research of Architectural and Urban Planning Practice in the Conditions of New Construction of Buildings of Innovation Centers
Abstract: In this scientific article, a comparative analysis of the architectural and urban planning aspects of the construction of research institutions is carried out. As an example, the features of the architectural and urban planning organization of the currently existing research institutes in Donetsk are considered, since by the type of activity they can be considered an earlier version of «innovation centers». The most famous research institutes were selected for the study: Donetsk National Research Coal Institute, Research Institute of Nonferrous Metals, Research Institute of Forensic Expertise, Research Institute of Medical Problems of the Family, Research Institute of Land Management, as well as Donetsk PromStroyNIIproekt, while their selection also took into account the diversity of branches of scientific activity. The features of the town-planning situation of each of the research institutes are considered in detail; the factors influencing the positive and negative aspects of the formation of the urban environment around a particular object of study are identified. The shortcomings of the architectural and urban planning organization of research institutes are noted. Based on the analysis of architectural and urban planning solutions in the field of designing buildings and structures, research institutes in the past and taking into account the modern needs of society, a number of basic criteria and principles have been formed to improve the quality of design of the architectural and urban planning organization of modern innovation centers.
