Abstract: This article discusses scientific and practical recommendations for the improvement and harmonization of the local area of intra-block development. An important task facing the harmonization of the local area of intra-block development is changing the lifestyle and existing behavioral scenarios of residents, especially in depressed outlying areas. Projects of residential areas and complexes today are based on the principles of diversity and contextuality. New approaches and principles have become the basis for many original open space projects, which are created taking into account local environmental and social factors. The residential environment of many large industrial cities for a long time remained the environment of «dormitory areas». It was primitive and limited in its functionality and aesthetic characteristics, which ultimately had a negative impact on the social climate. Meanwhile, the local area is an important link in the system of open urban spaces, a thin line separating private and public spaces.

Keywords: landscaping, harmonization, house territory, internal building, environmental factors, functional characteristics, courtyard space, urban environment, environmental design.
