Abstract: The article is devoted to the problem of developing certain personal and professional qualities in future specialists through their completion of final qualifying works on relevant social and rehabilitation topics. Using the example of considering a number of bachelor’s and master’s theses devoted to the development of special types of social and rehabilitation institutions for people with physical disabilities, the authors consistently reveal some very important organizational and methodological conditions, the implementation of which can contribute to the development of future specialists, on the one hand, such social significant qualities such as compassion, responsiveness and unselfishness, and, on the other hand, such professionally sought-after abilities as high search activity and non-standard divergent thinking, allowing one to avoid formal and template ill-conceived solutions. As a result of the analysis of the presented materials, it is concluded that in the scientific training of future specialists and their personal development, the topics of theses with a pronounced social and humanistic orientation are more preferable and justified than the traditional ones, which are characterized by repetition and a clear underestimation of the importance of such aspects.

Keywords: architectural specialties, scientific training and personal development of future specialists, topics of final qualification works, social and rehabilitation institutions for people with physical disabilities, psychophysiological specifics of the contingent and special groups of requirements, specific needs and features of their implementation, socially significant personal and professional qualities, compassion and responsiveness, search activity and divergent thinking.
