Features of the Formation of Open Spaces in the Urban Environment in the Context of the Development of an Industrial City (using the Example of Donbass Cities)
Abstract: The article is devoted to the analysis of the concept of «open space» in an urban environment. The conditions for the formation of open spaces are studied, taking into account their functional, compositional, aesthetic, architectural and artistic components. The structural characteristics of constructing the composition of open spaces both in newly built-up urban areas and techniques for preserving and restoring existing objects, taking into account the specific conditions of historically formed territories: regional, urban planning, compositional and stylistic, architectural and planning. The visual compositional methods of forming open spaces of the urban environment are studied, the elements influencing the organization of the appearance of the city, its certain sections, viewpoints are determined, and compositional techniques and means helping to achieve silhouette expressiveness of urban development taking into account open spaces are considered. Considerable attention is paid to the issues of the functional orientation of open spaces, their main architectural and planning forms, silhouettes and types that are used in urban development are determined.
