Abstract: The analysis of accumulated experience in the operation of roads with flexible pavements indicates that their premature failure is associated with a constant increase in vehicle traffic intensity, increased axle loads, changing climatic conditions, and alterations in the operational and maintenance conditions of roads. Changes in the transport and operational properties of road surfaces and untimely road repair work lead to increased repair costs (increased volume of work) as well as costs for materials and their quantity, resulting in extended repair times. To reduce material costs and ensure timely maintenance and repair work, it is advisable to utilize old road surfaces removed by milling to a depth of 5 to 30 cm, which contain sufficient amounts of mineral and organic material. Therefore, studying the physicomechanical and physicochemical properties of asphalt granulate is timely and necessary.

Keywords: old asphalt concrete, milling, asphalt granulate, mineral material, physicomechanical properties.
