The Emergence of Popular Forms of Calendar Names

Abstract: The most common ways of reformation of the official names to the folk have been considered, the basic morphemic changes that occur in names in the process of functioning of the modern Russian literary language have been analyzed. The main reasons for the emergence of the most forms of people’s names have been indicated; Official names have been considered, which are used in full form, despite the availability of abbreviated options.
