Durability and Reliability of Building Structures and Analysis of Methods of their Provision in Buildings and Structures
Abstract: The problems of durability encourage particular attention in construction. It is accounted for by the fact that the majority of buildings, structures and municipal facilities were erected 50-70 years ago and they are now worn-out. Capacitance engineering structures are quite necessary elements of the current city construction. They have found their application in many branches of industry and agriculture. A multi-scale problem of durability of ferroconcrete buildings and structures is a sum total of such integrated problems as constructability, reliability, cost saving and ecological aspects. The problem is to be solved by means of systems approach. There are still many uncertainties about the durability problem. Consideration of the problem is often confined to either practical or commercial levels. A range of urgent problems are to be solved for further advance. Providing of the required level of buildings and structures reliability in the process of their operation is carried out with technical and organizational methods. The paper presents the general issues and current problem state including the fundamental design principles of ferroconcrete structures durability, the existing methods of its evaluation, concepts and criteria associated with durability.
