Abstract: The scientific work is devoted to solving urgent problems in the field of the formation of conceptual approaches to the architectural modernization of buildings of medical institutions that are subject to reconstruction. The methodology of research of the existing problems in the field of reconstruction of similar institutions, based on approbation of experimental solutions in the designated branch of science, has been determined. Optimal approaches in the field of architectural and urban planning organization of buildings of medical institutions involved in reconstructive activities at the present stage of development of architectural science are proposed.
