Donbass Regional Features in the Works of the Architect Shamraevskiy Valery Victorovich
Abstract: The article describes the role of Donbass regional features in the of works of the well-known architect, town planner, artist and currently a teacher at the Donbas National Academy of Civil Engineering and Architecture – Valeriy Viktorovich Shamrayevskiy. The article generalizes the data of his creative biography, including his contribution in Donbass architecture and town-planning, as well as in the formation and development of regional architectural school. The architectural style of V. V. Shamrayevskiy is characterized by its reference to historical, national and cultural heritage of Donbass. His extensive creative experience gained during more than fifty years of practical activities he passes to the new generations of architects of the region. The graduate design projects of the students of DonNACA architectural faculty executed under the leadership of Valeriy Viktorovich reflect the regional specifics and are annually awarded with high degree diplomas on international competitions.
