Abstract: The results of a comparative study of the dependence of the activity of alkaline binders on the type of the alkaline component, the silicate module and the concentration of sodium silicate solution, as well as the hardening conditions (steaming and autoclaving) are presented. It was established that the activity of binders on high modulus (SiO2/Na2O = 2.8) sodium silicate is low – 4…12 MPa. By reducing the silicate module to 1–2, it increases by 3–4 times.

Keywords: alkaline binders, sodium hydroxide and silicate, hardening conditions, stone strength binders.
