Historical and Cultural Prerequisites for the Formation of the Architecture of Small Aviation Centers in the Donetsk Region

Abstract: This article discusses the historical and cultural aspects of the development of aviation facilities, in the context of small aviation, in the Donetsk region, which influenced the formation of the architecture of objects that directly or indirectly perform the functions of small aviation centers. The specific functional spectrum of this object under consideration is given in the article. The current objects of the Donetsk region are considered in this article, the aspects of their urban planning, layout and spatial organization, both existing and ceased operations. The advantages and disadvantages are identified that need to be addressed in the development of architectural and planning solutions for small aviation centers. It gives an opportunity for making a general conclusion on the state of existing facilities in the Donetsk region. It is also proposed to interpret the identified historical and cultural features at the fundamental levels of the architectural and planning organization of the small aviation centers: their urban planning, functional planning, as well as the organization of landscaping and interior space.
