Abstract: The article presents the features of geodetic monitoring for determining the deformations of transmission towers in the tight working space of the test site. The analysis of all advanced modern technologies and instruments used in geodetic monitoring of high-tension transmission tower has been carried out. It is concluded that the least expensive and most effective in determining the deformations of transmission towers during testing is the remote method with the use of reflectorless electronic total stations, and in the absence thereof, the angular method with the use of precision optical theodolites. The technique is considered in detail, and the accuracy calculation of the proposed methods is also performed. The experience of transmission towers testing has shown that the use of GNSS technologies is impossible, since the tower can collapse already in the early stages of testing that will lead to the damage of expensive GPS receivers.
