Abstract: The article considers approaches to construction and demolition waste management in European countries, the USA and the East. The gradual exhaustion of natural resources favours a rational attitude to materials and the search for ways to reuse construction and demolition waste. Potentially large amount of construction and demolition waste in modern cities, makes it possible to consider the city as a resource base for construction. In the economically developed countries of the world, the potential of construction waste was noticed earlier. Due to this, the problem of construction waste reuse has a high degree of elaboration in these countries. There are science-based solutions not only in the field of legislation and infrastructure, but also in the conscious attitude of the population of these countries to the management of construction and demolition waste. Increasing population, economic growth, physical deterioration of the housing stock lead to an increase in the volume of construction, which in turn increases the volume of construction and demolition waste, which requires rational use.
