Abstract: The article considers heat transfer processes from the primary to the secondary circuit of a granular gas cleaning apparatus of a heat recovery unit. The processes of heat transfer from hot gas to water through the tube wall using thermal conductivity and forced convection are analyzed in detail. A possible change in water temperature at the inlet and outlet of the granular layer due to heat transfer from the hot circuit to the cold one is shown. The design of an apparatus with a granular layer for simultaneous cleaning and utilization of heat from industrial equipment exhaust gases is presented due to the inclusion of convective tubes in the granular layer. The main determining values of the granular filler, which was taken as fireclay crumbs, gas flow, water, convective tubes are considered. The main conclusions on the topic of the study are given.

Keywords: heat exchange, heat transfer, conductive, convective, granular layer, heat recovery unit, primary heat carrier, secondary heat carrier.
