Investigation of the Effect of the Degree of Filling of the Drying Drum with Material on the Value of the Loads Acting on the Support Rollers

Abstract: The paper considers the process of filling the drying drum with the dried material and the effect of the amount of incoming material on the magnitude of the loads that occur at the points of contact of the bandages with the support rollers. The equation of the dependence of the mass of the material on the filling time of the drying drum is presented. The equations for determining the supporting loads and driving forces are compiled using the example of a drying drum with a friction drive, in which all four support rollers are driven. For the drying drum of the DS-168 asphalt mixing plant, graphs of the dependences of the support reactions and driving forces on the time of filling the drum with material were obtained. The obtained dependences allow us to determine the maximum and minimum loads acting on the support rollers and the value of the driving forces necessary for the development of the drying drum drive.
