Development of Urban Planning Documentation for Donbass in the 1980s at the Regional State Design Institute «Donbasgrazhdanproekt»
Abstract: The article attempts a comprehensive review and scientific, historical and theoretical coverage of the experience of urban planning design, the leading regional design institute «Donbasgrazhdanproekt» in the 1980s, when large-scale architectural and urban developments were carried out for populated areas of Donbass, which laid the foundations for urban development of the region for the subsequent period, up to today of the day. Information about the participants of the project process during the period under review is provided. This period was preceded by a rather long period of accumulation of experience in the field of architectural and urban design during the post-war reconstruction of populated areas in the region (1940s – the first half of the 1950s), and then during the period of industrialization of construction (the second half of the 1950s – 1970s). The information provided in the article is aimed at filling the gap in the study of the specified period of development of architectural and urban design activities for Donbass and will be used in the preparation of lecture materials in the disciplines «History of Architecture and Urban Planning of Donbass», «Regional peculiarities of urban planning», «Regional peculiarities of designing buildings and structures», «Regional fundamentals of landscape design» at the regional architectural school of the Donbass National Academy of Construction and Architecture.
