Preschool Education in Great Britain as a Subject of Life Long Learning: Linguistic-Pedagogical Aspect

Abstract: The article focuses on the system of pre-school learning as a subject of lifelong learning. The author views the terminological problem of the discrepancy of the concepts as a result of different cultural realias. The comparative analysis of the periodization of a child development in Russia and in Great Britain as a key factor for causing further terminological problems is given. The main document of European Union revealing the essence of pre-school education are quoted. The comparison within two categories – the compulsorism and evaluation of education is made. The pre-school education in Britain is described in all three forms – formal, non-formal, and informal.
