Teaching Strategies of Motivated Revision of Information to Non-Linguistic Students

Abstract: This paper focuses on the problem of teaching strategies of motivated revision of the information studied earlier to non-linguistic students. The purpose of the work is determined; the conditions of educational process are specified; the results are identified. The article describes author’s experience of teaching students of non-linguistic specialties’; examples of exercises that can be applied for teaching and recommendations how to use them are given. The ways how to motivate students to revise information are proposed; the resulting data about the revision motivation of students of experiential learning are summarized. The levels of students’ working knowledge and application skills as a result of learning are established. The teaching results make it possible to speak about the universality of strategies of motivated revision delayed in time and an opportunity to use them for work with information both in a foreign and in a native language.
