Abstract: The article considers the problem of organizing the workplace of students majoring in architecture with visual impairments. It provides statistical data on the number of students with visual impairments studying at the Faculty of Architecture of the Donbass National Academy of Civil Engineering and Architecture, and also focuses on the features of architectural education, which determines the relevance of developing the recommendations given by the author in the article. The article presents the results of a survey among students with visual impairments on the features of organizing their independent work. It was revealed that a student studying architecture spends over 30 hours a week preparing for classes, while it is worth noting that this amount of time can be increased depending on the characteristics of each student. A comprehensive review of the literature on the topic under study has been conducted, which showed that this problem is practically not analyzed taking into account the features of architectural education. In addition, the author has studied the works of a number of scientists in the field of architecture, which generally consider aspects of organizing space for people with visual impairments. To solve the problem, the author provides recommendations on organizing a workplace for visually impaired students majoring in «Architecture». The author provides characteristic principles and techniques of subject-spatial organization of the workplace of a student with visual impairments, including features of lighting, methodological support and, directly, modeling of the student-architect’s study corner. The author also provides examples of applying the principles and techniques of the considered subject-spatial organization of the workplace. It has been proven that the formation of an acceptable daily routine by the student, together with the correct organization of the workplace, aimed at preventing the development of visual pathologies, has a beneficial effect on both the student’s health and his’her academic success.
